Dominique Cornin’s roots go deep in the Mâconnais, the region in southern Burgundy famous for powerful and aordable Chardonnay. He is fortunate to work with very old vines, the youngest of which were planted by his grandfather over 50 years ago. Additional parcels were planted generations before, including a prized 100-year-old parcel in a vineyard called Les Serreudières. The Cornins employ a light touch throughout their winemaking process, and in general prize freshness and precision over power.
This Chardonnay is from younger vines in Beaujolais, in the southernmost portion of Burgundy. Its youthfulness provides incredible exuberance, loaded with freshness and energy.
